In 2124, humanity discovered the Charon Gateway. The ancient machine of unknown make, hidden in the Solar System’s Kuiper Belt, led into another universe – the Borderworld: filled with habitable planets, exotic materials, and never-before-seen physical phenomena. Humanity rushed to claim it. Two rival empires settled tens of billions into the new frontier, raising colossal cities, picking worlds clean for resources in pursuit of absolute victory.

Then, the Gateway failed.

Cut off from Earth, the colonies descended into chaos and war, ultimately getting wiped out by weapons of mass destruction. Tens of billions died. They say the old order vanished in a single day.

Two centuries later, the Borderworld belongs to those who survived. New factions rise from the ruins, rejecting the old, with eyes towards a brave, new future. Horrors of the old world awaken, threatening to drag the Borderworld back into darkness.

The next great age of conquest is about to begin.
